Carpal Tunnel Syndrome was traditionally thought to be caused by an entrapment of the median nerve as it traveled through the carpal tunnel of the wrist.  This is not the case.  As hand and wrist surgeons struggle with poor success rates, ART providers are showing a more than 90% success rate with reducing the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome in as little as six visits.

How is this possible?

To put it simply, the median nerve travels from the neck and shoulder region through the arm and then finally into the hand.  As the nerve travels down the arm, there are many points in the arm where the nerve travels in between muscles and ligaments.  Some common entrapment points for the median nerved are in the neck between the scalenes, and at the elbow as it travels through the pronator teres muscle.  Using Active Release Techniques, we are able to determine the area that the nerve is being trapped, and free up the nerve using a specific motion of the tissues involved.  ART is a hands on technique and providers are experts at feeling soft tissue problems and fixing them quickly.
